1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between Global School Software ("we", "us") and the institution that registers an account ("you", "the institution"). Creating an account, or using the platform after these terms change, means accepting them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a school, college or university, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. Accounts and approval
Registration is an application, not an activation. A platform administrator reviews every institution and may approve, decline or ask for more information. We may decline an application without giving reasons — most often because we could not confirm the institution exists.
Each account has an administrator responsible for the staff accounts created under it. Credentials are not to be shared, and you must tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
3. Plans, billing and tax
- Plans are published on the pricing page and are charged per institution, not per user.
- Trials are free and require no payment instrument. When a trial ends without a paid plan, the account becomes read-only rather than being deleted.
- Annual plans are billed in advance for the year; monthly plans in advance for the month.
- Prices are shown in INR and are exclusive of taxes, which are added where applicable.
- Changing plan mid-term is prorated against the remaining period.
- Refunds and cancellations are governed by the refund policy.
We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price increase affects a renewal.
4. Your data stays yours
Everything the institution enters — student and staff records, marks, attendance, images, written content — remains the institution's property. We claim no ownership and acquire no licence beyond what is needed to operate the service for you: storing it, backing it up, displaying it to your authorised users, and publishing the parts you deliberately mark public.
We do not use your data to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not disclose it to third parties except as set out in the privacy policy. You can export your data at any time while the account is active.
5. What the institution must do
- Have a lawful basis for the personal data it records, and give the notices its own law requires to students, guardians and staff.
- Keep records accurate, and correct them when told they are wrong.
- Grant staff only the access their role needs, and remove access when someone leaves.
- Publish to the public page only what it is entitled to publish — in particular, obtain consent before uploading photographs of identifiable students.
- Not upload malware, or content it does not have the right to use.
6. What we commit to
- To encrypt personal fields at rest and serve every page over TLS.
- To keep each institution's data isolated from every other institution's.
- To notify affected institutions without undue delay if a breach affects their data.
- To give at least 30 days' notice before discontinuing a material feature, and to make an export available before any shutdown.
7. Acceptable use
The acceptable-use policy forms part of these terms. In short: do not attack the platform, do not use it to harm anyone, and do not put data on it that you have no right to hold.
8. Availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not promise uninterrupted service on standard plans. Planned maintenance is announced in advance and scheduled outside Indian school hours wherever possible. Nothing here prevents us from taking emergency action to protect the platform or its data.
9. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time from the workspace. We may suspend an account for non-payment after written notice, or immediately where use threatens the platform, breaches the acceptable-use policy, or is unlawful.
After termination, data remains exportable for 30 days and is then deleted.
10. Liability
The platform is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid by the institution in that period. Nothing limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the workspace at least 30 days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page moves. Continuing to use the platform after that date is acceptance; if you do not accept, you may terminate and receive a prorated refund of prepaid fees.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts with jurisdiction over Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
