What you get before you type anything.
An institution should not have to sign up to find out what it is signing up to. This is every default the platform ships — the classes it will create, the subjects it will attach, the fee heads it offers, and the lists behind every dropdown. Nothing here is fixed: every single row can be renamed, edited or deleted once it is yours.
Classes and sections
Pick a range and every class in it is created at once, each with one section A — because a class with no section cannot hold a student or take a register. A class you already have by that name is left exactly as it is, never replaced and never duplicated.
Shown as Class 1. Schools that write Class I choose that instead when they apply a range, and only the numeral changes — Nursery, LKG and UKG are named either way.
Subjects, by stage
Attached per class, according to the stage that class belongs to. A subject already on a class is skipped rather than added twice.
Senior streams
Added to a single class at a time, on top of the common senior subjects, because a school rarely wants all three streams on all of its classes.
Fee heads
18 heads to choose from, so nobody has to think of the word "caution deposit" from a blank screen. Every one arrives at ₹0: a suggested figure would be a number we invented appearing on a page a parent reads as the school's own statement of its fees.

Fee starter sets
A starter set puts a table's worth of heads on the screen at zero, in order, so the work left is typing amounts rather than inventing a structure. Rename, delete or add to them freely — nothing is published to a public page until the school says so.

Compliance requirements
The checklist an institution works through for recognition and inspection, with what each requirement comes from — so a school can see why it is being asked and check it against its own situation. Anything that does not apply is marked as such, with a reason, rather than left blank.

Reference lists
The lists behind the dropdowns, written for Indian institutions: the PGT / TGT / PRT cadre split, D.El.Ed and BTC alongside B.Ed, CTET and the state eligibility tests, and the heads a government-aided school actually receives money under.
Staffing lists can be extended by a school with its own entries; the classification lists cannot, on purpose — the point of "Government aided" is that every institution in the directory means the same thing by it, and a filter over invented values means nothing.
Management type — 8
Who runs and funds the institution. Fixed, so the public filters stay meaningful.
Gender type — 3
Boys, girls or co-educational. Fixed, so the public filters stay meaningful.
Academic level — 9
The highest stage the institution teaches to. Fixed, so the public filters stay meaningful.
Medium of instruction — 16
